Detroit

Detroit

Detroit is many things — home of Motown, a creative center of design, and of course, it has been and always will be the Motor City.

You can add to that list: America's comeback city.

Detroit hustles harder. Nothing stops Detroit. Detroit vs. Everybody.

Detroit has seen its fair share of adversity, and then some, but it's a city on the rebound. You needn't look far to the see the vibrancy that all great cities have. It's reflected in the people, food, music, art, culture, architecture, and diversity.

While you're visiting, you won't be bored. Take some time to explore this amazing city, and get to know the people and places that make Detroit what it is. Here's just a taste of what you can do:

  1. Visit Motown and Hitsville, USA, home of musical legends, Marvin Gaye, Supremes, Jackson 5, and Stevie Wonder.
  2. Stroll through Belle Isle, a 982-acre island in the Detroit River designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, Central Park's designer.
  3. See the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, the birthplace of the Model T.
  4. Catch a performance at the historic Fox Theatre.
  5. If you're hungry, grab a bite to eat at famous Slow's BBQ.
  6. Take a tour of Detroit's stunning architecture by visiting must-see sites like Guarding Building and David Whitney Building.
  7. Check out a Tiger's game on Wednesday September 28 at 7:10pm against the Indians. Get tickets here.
  8. Visit The Heidelberg Project, a series of local community art projects (polka dot friendly).
  9. Take the People Mover to Greektown and try one of its many fabulous restaurants.
  10. Need a coffee break? The Great Lakes is a staple coffee roasting company in Detroit.

See more here and here. Don't miss out on what Detroit has to offer.
